The 5th edition of the WCO Global AEO Conference will take place in UAE, Dubai, from 10 to 12 March 2020. The Conference will provide a platform to exchange innovative ideas, examine potential opportunities, and explore the steps required to take the Customs-Business Partnership Programme to the next level by introducing new features and a novel approach.

In the frame of the WCO-UNODC Container Control Programme, a Strategic Trade and Export Control Training was successfully delivered at the ROCB Europe.

In the period from 19 to 20 September 2019, regional workshop «Improving the system of customs risk management» was held. The workshop was organized with the support of the Trade Facilitation Programme in Central Asia of the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ.

Final Report of the WCO Europe Region Heads of Customs Conference 2019 is now available on the ROCB Europe web site members section as received by the Russian Federation.

The WCO Secretariat released its latest research paper. Entitled “Extraterritoriality of Free Zones: the Necessity for Customs Involvement”, it examines the current situation regarding Customs procedures and controls related to Free Zones.

From September 9 to 13, 2019 under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Export and Border Security Program (EXBS) of the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic a workshop on Strategic Trade and Export Control for the officials of port control units of the Kyrgyz Republic was held in Bishkek.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan, His Excellency Erkan ÖZORAL paid a visit to the Regional Office for Capacity Building for the World Customs Organization Europe Region (ROCB Europe) on 23 July 2019.

ROCB Europe attended the third United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) High-Level seminar and thirteenth session of the Working Group on Trade.

Within the framework of the development of cooperation between RTCs / ROCBs of the European Region and the Asia-Pacific Region of WCO, on July 3, 2019, a representative of the WCO Asia-Pacific Regional Office for Capacity Building Dr. Tong Hua visited the WCO Regional Training Centre (Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine).
