ROCB Europe played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between the Azerbaijan Customs Service and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service, Ministry of Finance of Georgia. The recent meeting between the two entities focused on key aspects of the New Computerized Transit System (NCTS) implementation, with a particular emphasis on sharing expertise and lessons learned.

During the meeting, colleagues from Georgian Customs Service generously shared their valuable insights into the challenges faced during the implementation of NCTS in Georgia. The discussion delved into the strategies employed to overcome these challenges, providing a comprehensive overview of the implementation process.

Mr. Mirhasan Seyidzade, Deputy Director of ROCB Europe, expressed the recognition that collaboration between Azerbaijan and Georgia holds the potential to foster a more efficient and streamlined transit system in the region. He emphasized the importance of engaging in a constructive dialogue, exchanging ideas, and sharing best practices. The objective is to ensure a seamless integration of NCTS, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of transit systems in both countries.

Georgian Customs experts took the opportunity to make a comprehensive presentation on the implementation process of NCTS in Georgia. The presentation covered various aspects, including strategies employed and the overall success of the implementation. This exchange of information is expected to provide Azerbaijan Customs Service with valuable insights, enabling them to navigate the complexities of NCTS implementation more effectively.

Following the expert presentation, discussions were held in which the questions of the customs officers were answered regarding the NCTS project. This interactive session allowed for a more thorough understanding of the practical aspects of NCTS.

The collaborative effort between Azerbaijan and Georgia reflects a commitment to regional cooperation and the pursuit of shared goals in transit system efficiency.
