In the frame of the WCO-UNODC Container Control Programme, a Strategic Trade and Export Control Training was successfully delivered at the ROCB Europe.
The Training was held from 4 to 8 November 2019. Participants of the Training were informed about the critical aspects with regard to controlling strategic goods.
Strategic goods encompass weapons of mass destruction (WMD), conventional weapons, and related items involved in the development, production or use of such weapons and their delivery systems.Despite the importance of combating illicit trafficking in strategic commodities and Customs’ role as the first and last line of defense at the national level, this remains a particularly challenging topic for Customs.
