On November 25, chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Colonel-General Safar Mehdiyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci.

Welcoming the guest, chairman of the State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev expressed satisfaction with the developing relations between the two brotherly countries. It was said that Turkey's strong political and moral support for Azerbaijan during the Patriotic war and during the post-war period demonstrated the fact that two countries always support each other.

Safar Mehdiyev underlined that the political will, friendship and brotherhood between the two leaders and implementation of the instructions given by them was playing an important role in the development of the cooperation. The chairman of the committee said that the customs bodies authorities of the two countries also had important duties in the development of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations. Recalling his recent working visit to the brotherly country, the chairman of the committee said that the meeting with his Turkish counterpart in Izmir contributed to further developing mutual cooperation, underlined the importance of the document signed by heads of customs services of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey in terms of facilitating trade between their countries, increasing transit potential and promoting regional economic integration.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci expressed his gratitude for another meeting with the leadership of the State Customs Committee, said the friendship and brotherhood, strategic alliance between their countries served as an example.

The ambassador expressed satisfaction with the close engagement of Turkish companies in the restoration of the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the cooperation between the customs bodies of the two countries, and shared his views on further development of economic and trade relations.

Then, views were exchanged on the issues of mutual interest.
