In order to differentiate the application of forms of customs control, the customs authorities apply a subject-oriented approach, namely, the participants in foreign economic activity are categorized into low, medium and high risk categories.

The results of the categorization of foreign economic activity participants are used for further risk profiling, i.e. in other words, the purpose of customs control measures and the scope of their implementation depend on the category of the participant in foreign economic activity.

According to customs legislation, as well as global practice and recommendations of the World Customs Organization, information about the procedure, the criteria used in categorization are confidential information and are used only for official use.

From the beginning of 2021, it is planned to implement this procedure, and the categorization calculation will be carried out on a monthly basis.
