On November 19, 2021 in Osh for the purpose of acquaintance and timely discussion of the draft "Concept of development of the customs service of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2024" developed in accordance with the "National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026"  A roundtable was held with the participation of regulators and representatives of the business community. The event was organized with the support of the OSCE Program Office.       

During the event, the sides discussed the transfer of powers to some state border control bodies, as well as the main priorities of liberalization and simplification of foreign trade, improvement of customs administration and comprehensive digitalization of the customs system. 

During the meeting, representatives of the business community took an active part in the discussion of the project and made suggestions that will be included in the action plan for the implementation of the Concept. In addition, the draft "Concept for the development of the customs service of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2024" was presented to the South-Western customs officers.

The purpose of the concept is to develop foreign trade and ensure the efficiency of foreign economic activity by improving the quality and efficiency of customs administration and the introduction of modern innovative projects in the customs sphere. In the implementation of the concept, it is expected to reduce the time of customs operations, increase the share of declarations in electronic form, to conduct customs inspections only on the basis of the results of TBS and categories.
