On April 30, Calais customs officials seized 3.5 tonnes of cigarettes.

During a check at Calais Tunnel, customs officers selected a road combination. When the rear doors of the trailer were opened, customs officers discovered a load consisting of 30 pallets of cardboard boxes, of which, apart from the first three pallets, contained cartons of JPS brand cigarettes.

The case shows 351 boxes containing a total of 17,550 cartons of JPS brand cigarettes, for a total weight of 3.5 tonnes of cigarettes.
