ROCB Europe and Azerbaijan Customs Academy Sets the Stage for Close Cooperation

Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Mr. Kunio Mikuriya visited the Regional Office for Capacity Building for the World Customs Organization Europe Region today on the occasion of Subregional Workshop on Application of Customs Related Provisions of World Trade Organization Trade Facilitation Agreement.

Mr. Aidyn Imashev, Executive Officer at the ROCB Europe has successfully completed his tenure at the Office and went back to his home administration to take up his new position.

Improvement of Instruments of Customs Administration: International and Legal Aspect

On invitation of the State Customs Service (SCS) of Turkmenistan, Mr. Dashgin Aliyev, acting Regional Development Manager for the World Customs Organization (WCO) Europe Region and Mr. Roger Hermann, Head of the Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB) for the WCO Europe Region met on 28-29 November representatives from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

Russian translation of the Revenue Package, one of the main resources of the World Customs Organization (WCO), was provided by ROCB Europe and delivered to the WCO for inclusion into online training materials.

The Regional Workshop on Simplification and Acceleration of Customs Procedures will be convened at the ROCB Europe Premises in Baku, Azerbaijan from 20 to 21 June 2018.

ROCB Europe paid a courtesy visit to the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan to congratulate newly appointed Chairman Mr. Sefer Mehdiyev.

2018 AEO International Conference and Assembly, which was carried out between 2-4 May 2018 in Baku, Azerbaijan, was succesfully completed. The event was co-organized by the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the International Association of Authorised Economic Operators Customs and Logistics.

The 13th annual WCO PICARD Conference will take place in Malatya, Turkey, from 9 to 11 October 2018 in partnership with the World Customs Organization and the Ministry of Customs and Trade of the Republic of Turkey. Additional donor support is being provided by the Korea Customs Service.

The 8th Session of the Virtual Customs Orientation Academy (VCOA) of the World Customs Organization (WCO), intended for English-speaking Customs officers, will be held from 3 September to 7 December 2018.

World Customs Organization (WCO) Europe Region Heads of Customs Conference 2018 hosted by the WCO Europe Region Vice-Chairmanship of Federal Customs Service of Russian Federation was held in Sochi, Russian Federation on 12-13 April 2018.
