Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Mr. Kunio Mikuriya visited the Regional Office for Capacity Building for the World Customs Organization Europe Region today on the occasion of Subregional Workshop on Application of Customs Related Provisions of World Trade Organization Trade Facilitation Agreement.

In his openning speech, Mr. Mikuriya stressed the importance of trade facilitation tools and especially the use of information technologies in customs processes. He also underlined that creating a convenient business environment is vital for trade. 

Mr. Mikuriya said that the World Customs Organization has dedicated 2019 to transforming frontiers into SMART borders for seamless Trade, Travel and Transport as well.
