2018 AEO International Conference and Assembly,  which was carried out between 2-4 May 2018 in Baku, Azerbaijan, was succesfully completed. The event was co-organized by the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the International Association of Authorised Economic Operators Customs and Logistics. 

The Conference included several panels and keynote speeches on AEO concept as well as security and advantages thereof together with beneficial professional and cultural visits. 

Panels were made on the topics of 'Building a secure supply chain: Perspective of AEO private sector operators', 'Core Elements of a Secure Business Environment', 'Building a secure supply chain: Perspective of AEO public sector programmes' and 'Customs-Business Cooperation: Contributing to Economic Development'. 

Keynote speeches were delivered by selected speakers on  Silk Road from the perspectives of corporate, border security, intermodal transport and logistics.

The Conference also introduced a workshop on blockchain technology. On the occasion of the Conference, the participants had the opportunity to have a learning visit to New Port of Baku and Free Trade Zone in Baku.

The event ended with the signature of the Action Plan between The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the International Association of Authorised Economic Operators Customs and Logistics.
