The ROCB Europe proudly reports on the successful conclusion of the 15th meeting of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Capacity Building Committee. The pivotal gathering, hosted at the WCO headquarters in Brussels from February 21–23, 2024, brought together customs officials and experts from around the globe to deliberate on critical themes driving the future of customs capacity building.

This year's meeting underscored the ongoing commitment of the WCO and its members to enhance global customs operations through sustained investment, innovation, and cooperation.

Participants discussed strategies for sustaining and increasing investments in customs capacity building, recognizing the need for comprehensive approaches that leverage new and existing partnerships. The aim is to foster a collaborative environment conducive to sharing best practices and resources.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the implementation of the WCO Performance Measurement Mechanism (PMM). This initiative is designed to provide a standardized framework for assessing and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of customs administrations worldwide.

The discussions and outcomes of the 15th meeting reflect a collective ambition to navigate the complex and evolving landscape of international trade and security.
